Everything you need to know about our wildlife tours

What wildlife will we see?

While we can't guarantee specific sightings (it's nature!), dolphins and sea lions are commonly spotted year-round. Gray whales are best seen December through April, while blue and humpback whales are more common May through November.

How long are the tours?

We offer tours from 2 to 12 hours. For the best whale watching experience, we recommend at least 4 hours, which gives time to reach deeper waters where whales are more commonly found.

Is this good for kids?

Absolutely! Children love seeing dolphins and sea lions up close. We recommend bringing snacks, sunscreen, and layers. Kids under 12 should wear life jackets which we provide.

What should I bring?

We recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, layers (it's cooler on the water), a camera, binoculars if you have them, and any snacks or drinks you'd like. BYOB is welcome!

What if we don't see any whales?

Wildlife sightings can't be guaranteed, and that's what makes it exciting. However, dolphins and sea lions are spotted on nearly every trip. Our experienced captains know the best spots and will do everything possible to find wildlife.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety is our priority. If conditions aren't suitable, we'll reschedule at no extra cost. Calm seas are actually better for wildlife spotting, so we monitor conditions carefully.
